Barry Hewitt
Barry Hewitt is a Highly respected professional dog trainer specializing in personal protection dogs and sport dogs. With a career spanning over two decades, Barry is renowned for his exceptional obedience training, and his extensive knowledge in addressing pet behavioral problems. From common challenges like leash aggression and anxiety to more complex behavioral issues.
Barry is a graduate of the “Animal Behavior College”, a certified decoy for law enforcement agencies in Los Angeles. Barry brings a unique depth of experience to his training methods. He has titled dogs in multiple protection sports, including Mondioring and French Ring, showcasing his expertise and dedication to the craft.
In 2009, Barry and his wife, Michelle, co-founded BlueCollar Working dog, the first retail store catering specifically to sport, working, and active dogs. Their vision was to create a hub where dog owners could find high-quality training gear, supplies, and expert advice. Barry has gained unparalleled insight into the canine world through fielding countless questions from dog owners, trainers, and enthusiasts. From nutrition and gear to training techniques and behavioral advice, he has encountered virtually every inquiry pertaining to dogs.
Barry also runs Skollhati.com, a protection dog equipment company that provides innovative and durable products for trainers and handlers worldwide. His passion for dogs, commitment to excellence, and ability to address both training and behavioral challenges have made him a trusted name in the world of professional dog training.
Barry currently resides in St. Augustine, Florida, where he offers personal one-on-one training sessions. Whether you’re seeking assistance with obedience, behavioral issues, or sport and protection training, Barry is available to work with clients in the surrounding area of Florida.
